Ms. Stavinoha is an associate in the Houston office. Her practice focuses on representing school districts, charter schools, and junior colleges in governance, policy development, employment, contracts, procurement, and facilities and construction matters.
Ms. Stavinoha received her Bachelor of Science in Human Sciences from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2011. Quickly thereafter she fulfilled her dream of becoming a fifth-generation teacher. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Stavinoha was fortunate to spend 10 years working as a teacher, Career Technology Education department chair, and childcare director for a large Texas school district. In 2017, Ms. Stavinoha graduated with her Master of Education from Stephen F. Austin State University and earned her Texas Principal Certification. While on an administrative track in the school district, Ms. Stavinoha realized another dream, being a school law attorney.
Ms. Stavinoha graduated Summa Cum Laude, from South Texas College of Law Houston, where she ranked fourth in her class. While in law school, Ms. Stavinoha was honored with the Order of Lytae, Presidential Fellow, Dean’s List recognition, and recipient of the John D. Ensle Award in Evidence. Ms. Stavinoha received the CALI Excellence Award for the highest grade awarded in Civil Procedure II, Torts II, Evidence, Federal Income Taxation, Construction Law, and Family Law. Ms. Stavinoha served as a Langdell Scholar for Torts, Civil Procedure, and Federal Income Taxation, the Office of Academic Success’ Senior Langdell Scholar, a research assistant, and President of Christian Legal Society. Also, while in law school, Ms. Stavinoha clerked with CFISD General Counsel and Spalding Nichols Lamp Langlois.
With a career dedicated to serving public institutions, Ms. Ibarra has developed an interest and deep understanding of the legal frameworks governing governmental bodies. She has successfully supported school districts and other political subdivisions on a variety of legal matters, ranging from open government compliance to navigating complex public records requests under state law.
Ms. Stavinoha is married to her husband, Ryan, and a mom of two boys and four rescue dogs. Outside of work, Ms. Stavinoha is likely at a baseball tournament for eldest son. She is a member of the Christian Legal Society Houston Chapter and Cy-Life Church where she is a Sunday school pre-K teacher.
