SNLL boasts two lawyers who are Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization – Paul Lamp and Cory Rush.
SNLL’s goal is to provide effective and timely legal advice during day-to-day consultations in employment-related matters to avoid costly and time-consuming litigation. This means that SNLL’s attorneys routinely advise on all aspects of the employer-employee relationship, such as wage and hour laws, terms and conditions of employment (i.e., accommodations, leaves of absence, complaint management, etc.), and employment separation issues. SNLL’s proactive approach and strategic counsel enable public entities to manage employment-related litigation effectively and maintain focus on their mission of serving the public interest.
Cumulatively, SNLL’s attorneys have defended hundreds of employment-related claims against our public sector clients in federal and state courts, as well as before administrative agencies.
SNLL has defended our public sector clients in litigation arising from virtually all federal and state employment laws (e.g., Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, 42 U.S.C. §§ 1981 and 1983, Texas Whistleblower Act, and Texas Labor Code Chapter 21). A large portion of these cases are dismissed early in the litigation process as a result of SNLL’s aggressive use of pre-trial motions, which saves clients significant costs in defending claims. In the event cases are not dismissed early, our attorneys are also experienced in handling trials and pursuing necessary appeals to higher courts, including drafting appellate briefs and presenting oral arguments.
The Firm also routinely represents our public sector clients in employment-related administrative proceedings, including Texas Education Code Chapter 21 nonrenewal and termination hearings, EEOC charges, TWC/unemployment claims, and OCR complaints.
