Janae Sparks

Ms. Sparks is an associate in the Houston office. Her practice focuses on representing public school districts and charter schools in a broad range of education law matters, including employment, open government, and student matters.

Ms. Sparks received her Bachelor of Arts in Government, with honors, from the University of Texas at Austin in 2021. Prior to attending law school, she worked in tax controversy, where she advocated for small- and medium-sized businesses in matters before the Internal Revenue Service.

Ms. Sparks earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center. While in law school, she served as a Senior Articles Editor of the Houston Journal of International Law and gained legal experience through externing for the Honorable Sofia Adrogué of the Texas Business Court. She also clerked with Spalding Nichols Lamp Langlois, where she developed experience in the representation of public-school districts and other educational entities.

Ms. Sparks is a Houston native. She enjoys spending her free time with her two miniature dachshunds, training for distance races, and attending concerts. She is a member of the Houston Young Lawyers Association.
