Our clients face various, unique, and often shifting issues on a daily basis, and SNLL’s attorneys stand ready to assist our client representatives navigate the ever-changing landscape of school and governmental law. Approximately half of the Firm’s work pertains to personnel-related matters, and we routinely advise clients in all aspects of the employment relationship—from hiring practices, terms and conditions of employment, employment separation, and employment-related litigation. SNLL also routinely assists clients with investigations, audits, complaints involving student matters, business operations, and issues arising from our clients’ communities and other stakeholders. 

SNLL’s lawyers fulfill various roles for our clients depending on what is needed at the relevant time. This means our attorneys collaborate daily with authorized client representatives at the administrative level, serve as hearing officers during grievances, conduct investigations arising from stakeholder complaints, present on behalf of the administration during grievance and termination/nonrenewal appeals, and advise boards of trustees on general governance matters and hearings. 

Another important aspect of SNLL’s mission is to provide training and professional development opportunities to aid our clients in remaining compliant with applicable laws and ready our clients to implement best practices in furtherance of their educational and governmental missions. Ultimately, our collective goal in providing training opportunities is to help our clients be in the best position possible so they will not need to call a lawyer.
