MEET CORY
Mr. Rush is a partner in the Houston office. Mr. Rush is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and his practice includes the representation of public and private sector employers in employment and civil rights litigation. Mr. Rush’s litigation practice includes constitutional claims arising under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 employment discrimination claims under Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and Chapter 21 of the Texas Labor Code; the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. Mr. Rush also represents clients in administrative hearings and appeals under the Texas Education Code, including terminations, nonrenewals, and grievances.
Mr. Rush is the Chair of the School Law Section of the State Bar of Texas for 2025, and he is a frequent speaker and trainer on many topics impacting schools and colleges, including Board/Superintendent relations, employment law, open government, and student matters. Mr. Rush is also a course instructor for the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO).
Mr. Rush received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas in 2007, where he spent all four years as a proud member of the Texas Longhorn Band. In 2010, Mr. Rush graduated from South Texas College of Law. Mr. Rush was on the Dean’s List, was a Langdell Scholar, and received the CALI Excellence Award for the highest grade awarded in constitutional law.
Mr. Rush began his legal career in 2010 as an associate at Rogers, Morris & Grover, LLP, where he became a partner in 2018.
Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers has designated Mr. Rush as a Rising Star, which is a recognition for only 5% of Texas attorneys who are either under 40 years or age or have been in practice for 10 years or less, from 2019-2024.
