Charter Schools

Charter schools, while part of the public school system of the state, are a unique area of school law with many of their own laws and challenges.

SNLL’s attorneys have significant experience advising and representing both small and large charter school networks in Texas in all aspects of charter operations. Specifically, SNLL represents charter schools on formation and governance, including board responsibilities and compliance with state and federal regulations. The Firm’s attorneys also take a proactive approach in negotiating and drafting contracts with vendors, service providers, and third parties on behalf of charter schools. SNLL also advises and represents charter schools in procurement, employment, finance, student discipline, enrollment, legislative matters, and in administrative matters related to formation, compliance, and accountability.

SNLL not only provides strategic guidance, policy development, and proactive risk management, but we also provide legal expertise and representation in various litigation matters, including in matters before the Texas Education Agency in order to support the mission and success of charter schools in delivering quality education to their students.
